Management by love vs Management by fear

Instead of expensive leadership programs, you can read the below. The hardest though is to start to practice it, the empathic way of leadership, to start to trust your people, fully, to forget your control mechanisms you got used to use. Instead of all this, talk to your team! Get to know them : what do they think? what do they like? what they do not like? how do they feel? I promise, if your people are on the right places (recruitment is vital here!), they will appreciate your attitude, your interest, your trust, and will work even harder. However, I do agree that with controlling and pushing people, you can reach your business goals, too, no doubts about that, but only in a short run… Why? Because people will be leaving. Company will be spending money on recruitment and integration. Or you will stay with people who are OK to be pushed. Usually, this kind of people are less creative, less pro-active, and less happy. Probably just like you if you practice management by fear.
